I celebrated my birthday at AANCH with a group of 20 people, and it was such a wonderful experience. The food was delicious with plenty of variety, and everything was fresh and well‑presented. A special shout‑out to Harman — she was absolutely amazing. She checked on us every hour, made sure everything was perfect, and handled our big group with so much patience and professionalism. Her service truly made the celebration feel extra special. Highly recommend this place for gatherings and celebrations. We all left happy and satisfied!

Amazing experience at Indian Punjab Food! Every dish we tried was outstanding, and the flavours were spot on. We had Achari Chaap, Papri Balla Basket, Stuffed Mushroom, Butter Naan, Butter Tandoori Roti, Singapore Veg Noodles, Jaipuri Paneer, Veg Manchurian, Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream, and Rasmalai – each one was delicious and beautifully prepared. The staff recommendations were excellent, and the service by Luv and Muskhan was so warm and sweet, making the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommend this place for authentic food, great variety, and amazing hospitality

I’ve landed myself in Indian food heaven tonight at Aanch in downtown Truganina and suddenly I’m questioning my recent decision to move away from Melbourne’s west. After five years of living out here, one overnight visit has me whispering to myself: “Have I made a culinary error heading east when the food is THIS good?” The whole area buzzes with bakeries, dessert shops, spice stores, restaurants, and the unmistakable hum of people who know good food when they see it (and smell it!). And honestly, the west just does flavour differently. Tonight proved that. I started with Dahi Puri, a first for me. Little crispy lentil shells, soft on the inside, overflowing with cool sweet yoghurt and tangy tamarind. Basically: tiny one-bite flavour bombs that detonate joy across your taste buds. Instant addiction. Instant regret I don’t live closer. Then the main event arrived: the Aanch Special Nalli Nihari, an overnight slow-cooked lamb shank served in a rich Mughlai gravy, topped with coriander and laccha onion. I’m not being dramatic when I say this: it is the BEST lamb dish I have ever eaten anywhere in the world and I’ve eaten Indian food on multiple continents. Here in the western suburbs? They’re absolutely smashing it. Chicken Tikka was generous, perfectly spiced, tender. Roti, raita & rice was essential equipment for sauce-mopping. Add a bottle of Bowen Shiraz because flavour heaven deserves good wine. The whole meal was a culinary / gastronomic / epicurean moment of pure serendipity… one of those dinners where you look around and think, How is this my life right now? A heartfelt thank you to Ismail and his team, the humble geniuses in the kitchen, and to Sangeeta and her team, who were warm, attentive, funny, gentle, and impossibly accommodating in front of house. Hospitality done right. Practical bits: • Kid friendly (small kids’ menu) • Wheelchair accessible • Great parking • Set among an incredible array of multicultural eateries • Dietaries catered for, chat to staff • Takeaway available • $21 weekday all-you-can-eat lunch special (!!) Walking back to my car and seeing the Hungry Jack’s drive-thru sign after a meal like this? Honestly, it felt like a crime against flavour. Ho hum indeed.
